Electrical flow heaters
ELMESS flow heaters are used for heating liquids and gaseous media. They are manufactured as an explosion-proof design (ATEX, IECEx, etc.) or a high quality industrial design according to the customer’s specifications.
ELMESS offers electrical flow heaters from 0.5kW to several MW and we also have solutions for high temperature applications of up to 1000°C.
Flow Heaters
Flow heaters (series I) comprise an immersion heater installed in a flow vessel to heat liquids or gases directly.
Applications:
- Oil heating (lubricating oil, heating oil, heat transfer oil)
- Water heating (industrial heating systems)
- Heating natural gas, sealing gas and combustion gas
- Heating process gases and industrial gases
- Air heaters (compressed air, combustion air, drying technology)
- Environmental technologies (waste air purification, catalytic treatment)
- Steam generators, steam superheaters (industrial process engineering)
Block Type Heaters
Block type heaters (series III) are used to heat the medium up indirectly in a tube coil. The tube coil is cast in an aluminium block together with the electrical heating bundle, which is protected by a sheath made of steel or stainless steel.

Design codes and inspection
Design, production and inspection in accordance with the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU), ASME code or other international regulations
Design in accordance with AD2000, ASME or other regulations
Acceptance: Factory acceptance, TÜV, LR, RINA, SELO or other companies, individual acceptance by classification companies such as DNV, BV, LR, ABS, GLC etc.,
Design in accordance with the ASME code with or without U-Stamp
Ex equipment is placed on the market with an EC type approval certificate (in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU).
